On offer for sale is my 2000 Toyota 4Runner Highlander (not to be confused with simply the Sport Package). This is a somewhat rare edition of the 3rd generation 4Runner that was only offered during model years 1999 and 2000; then again, if you're on this forum, you probably already knew that. This truck is also the last year it was equipped with coveted manual transmission. Before you ask,
this vehicle is not equipped with the Rear Locking Differential. You should also know that the truck is absolutely free of rust.
My ownership experience began in August 2010 after a near 6-month search. I purchased the truck from a retired couple in Rifle, CO; they inherited the truck from their son, who had performed the upgrades mentioned below (see Previous Owner). The previous owner stated they mostly used the truck at their Summer home in Rifle, but ocassionaly drove the truck back to their Winter home in Arizona. My time with the truck has been spent using it as a daily driver, making the 25-mile round trip to work. I did not tow with the vehicle, nor did the previous owner (or so was the claim when I bought it); from the condition of the vehicle, this seems absolutely plausible.
It is certainly worthy of a mention that I have not engaged in any 4-wheeling/off-roading of any kind. True enough, the truck appears capable of some adventurous, off the beaten path shenanigans, but not during my time. I suppose that makes me a bit of a poser, but I'm absolutely ok with that; at least the truck has looked pretty good while doing it. Also, she has lived her life in the garage.
Every single option the car is equipped with functions as it should.
Why am I selling? That is the real question, is it not? As a result of being addicted to most things automotive, I've already purchased a replacement that was completely unnecessary (a Tundra, if you must know; I'm a bit of a Toyota truck guy as I've had 4 of them; yes, I'm aware that I have a bit of a problem). As much as I've absolutely enjoyed the 4Runner, and will certainly regret selling it the moment it leaves the driveway, it is time to pass her on to a new owner and a new home.

- 265/75R16 Tires (upgrade from OEM 265/70R16 tires)
- Sony Xplod CDX-F7715X CD receiver w/MP3 playback & RM-X152 Remote Control
I suspect the exhaust has, in some way, been modified. I don't have documentation to support it, but it has a rather throaty growl that is aggressive, without being in the least bit annoying. Truth be told I wouldn't change a thing about it and felt it worthy of a mention here.

-= [Maintenance] History =-
Most every service receipt will come with the truck, to include incidentals like oil/filter changes. The vehicle was serviced during its lifetime by a combination of Toyota dealerships, private mechanics, and myself. The following is a list of maintenance events of note:

- [10-27-2006 | 98,647 miles] Timing belt, water pump, & thermostat replaced; radiator flushed.

- [12-01-2013 | 148,484 miles] Replaced all bulbs in the center stack (HVAC, rear windows switch, etc.)
-= [Issues] Current =-
As much as I would like to tell you this truck looks as if it has just rolled off of the showroom floor, that would be misleading. Fact is that this car is 13 years of age and has been no stranger to Colorado roads. It presently does not have any needs that I am aware of, but the following is a list of issues of note:
- The body is wearing approx. a handful of dings & scratches, associated with years of use. However, the condition of the paint is quite good.
- The driver's seat side bolstering has been pretty beaten up, showing cracks/creases numbering in the dozens.
- The windshield has been chipped and sandblasted by the usual road debris; twice I've had chips repaired; no cracks to speak of tho.
- The wood laminate covering the driver's side window & lock switchgear has a piece chipped off.
- The roof rack has some paint chipping/flaking; functions as intended, however.
- One fog light has suffered a crack/chip from a rock, presumably; the light still works perfectly fine.
-= [Photos] Additional =-
I had taken many more pics than this, but during my photo shoot, I damaged my camera and ruined the lens (didn't know it at the time). Additional pics available upon request, but keep in mind they might be from my phone unless I can source a replacement digicam.
